Twenty-twentyOne

So how has your 2021 been?

Personally, it  has been rather challenging. The mco(s) has brought innumerable changes to our lives. Our lives grounded to a halt as we found ourselves embattled in one national covid crisis after another. Personally, I've lost a friend to covid, and my schoolmate has lost his wife. What does one say to those who remain.. Words seem too hollow.
Covid has also drastically  affected my real estate income. I only manage (to do)

two small rentals  the whole entire year. And to top it off, my regular monthly retainer fee was slashed 40%, (later they reduced to 30%) and finally would you know it(?!), the company wound up. Can you believe that ?!  So I was forced to begin  looking for another company to join. But the company i had decided on had a waiting list which could stretch anywhere betwn 3 or more months, (until then they would not be paying me for use of my real estate  license). But in the end, they offered me a contract in Dec (so i was only 2 months without income); I'm thankful at least  my year has ended on a good note.

One thing covid has shown is the fragility of life, and we lost 'control' of what we perceived to be our right, our lives became regulated beyond what we ever imagined. Mandates on face masks, vaccination,  restricting our movements/exercise - it was a crazy year. Nothing was  safe anymore. But in a way covid was also a  great leveler, affecting rich poor alike. There was a point even rich ppl who could afford expensive medical treatment  had no choice but forced to sought treatment ONLY  in govt assigned  hospitals.

But through it all, faith in an unseen God became paramount. When all else is falling apart, a 'knowing' that his eyes are on us gave me hope, comfort, and believing for better days ahead. Whatever we train our minds on.. is what will dictate to us our mental and emotional state. It's better to stay in faith (believe in a loving God), than to agree with the 'preaching' arising from negative circumstances. (easier said than done i know)

Becos Jesus overcame the world, emerged victorious over sin (and death), we too can choose to align ourselves with Him.

"Herein is our love made perfect... because as he isso are we in this world"  (ie. victorious)  1 John 4:17

As i pen this note on my favorite sofa on the morning of Boxing Day (probably my last blog entry for 2021),  i am amazed at the events that took place the last 24hrs ( on Christmas day itself ). A real estate 'deal' that has been sitting on the warmer the past 3 weeks suddenly burst red hot, and i scrambled  negotiating furiously, and finally at 7pm i headed home after banking in a cheque  that would more than make up for the entire year. I am still astounded at the goodness of God, to come thru like this on Christmas Day and drop this blessing  on my lap to mark the end of 2021.
(  i hv yet to digest, and to process all that has happened the last 24hrs)

Believe something wonderful to happen.

It's a struggle and a fight to keep our faith positive in light of challenging circumstances. But the year turned itself right-side up in one stunning moment.

So whatever that comes in 2022, continue in the love of Jesus, believe in his goodness towards us, and believe for good things (ie. God things) to happen! *

God's love to you and yr loved ones.

Signing off for 2021!

* Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.  (3John1-2)
